Upload a file instead of scheduling a live captioner
File-based captioning starts after a program, interview, commercial or other piece of media has been recorded. Upload an MP4, MOV, MXF, WebM or MKV file, select the required caption options and let MUXEVO process the complete program asynchronously.
Because the system can measure the finished recording, automated captioning can use the full program timing while the dashboard reports progress through transcription, optional analysis, caption creation and delivery.
AI-assisted captions with human control
MUXEVO uses AI-assisted transcription to create timed captions. Eligible plans provide caption editing, draft revisions, content flags and output review so a human operator can correct names, terminology, timing and presentation before approval.
Optional AI-aware placement can keep captions away from detected lower-third graphics. Optional music and sound analysis can propose relevant descriptive caption events for review.
Choose digital or broadcast delivery
For digital delivery, MUXEVO can create a captioned MP4. For supported broadcast workflows, it creates a Broadcast MXF master with native CEA-708 services, CEA-608 compatibility captions, preserved program audio information and strict post-encode inspection.
Completed files can be downloaded securely and, on eligible plans, shared through direct links or recipient email delivery.

Is file-based captioning the same as live captioning?
No. File-based captioning processes a completed recording. MUXEVO does not provide captions for live meetings, microphones or broadcast feeds.
What media files can I upload?
MUXEVO accepts common prerecorded media formats including MP4, MOV, MXF, WebM and MKV, subject to file validation and the selected output workflow.
Can automated captions be corrected before delivery?
Yes. Eligible plans provide caption review and revision tools before captions are re-embedded into the finished output.
